Dave Young is the CFO of Kodak WinningFotos – a global organization and blossoming community of photographers and mentors who want to take their craft to the next level. Today he talks about how (and why) he jumped off the corporate ladder to start his own enterprise. He also discusses the importance of surrounding yourself with honest people with opposing viewpoints, shares how his career took off after partnering with industry giant Kodak, and reveals how to teach everyone on your team to articulate the company vision.

Topics include:

  • Using imagery to connect with audiences
  • How to connect with experts and industry giants
  • Why having multiple skillsets is key in the startup world
  • Embracing the ways Millennials tackle problems
  • Why he call himself the “Chief Swiss Army Knife”

David Young is the Chief Financial Officer at Kodak WinningFotos, a Seattle-based global company with a robust trajectory that provides a place for photographers to grow and mentor other up-and-coming photographers. However, he introduces himself as “Chief Swiss Army Knife.”

He started out as an analyst on Wall Street before joining the treasury group at a Fortune 500 company with the goal of bringing mobile data to the U.S. David has also developed a number of cloud patents and sold a technology company he co-founded during the tech bubble. He holds a BA from the University of Puget Sound and a Master’s of Science in Finance from Seattle University. He loves spending time with his three daughters.
