Marc Mawhinney’s Top 5 Influential Authors and Media Moguls

Our most recent “Smashing the Plateau” episode showcased the talents of Natural Born Coaches podcast host Marc Mawhinney. Marc shared his secrets of launching and sustaining a daily coaching podcast. (If you missed Marc, go back and listen here.)

Getting your own project off the ground is no small accomplishment. Keeping it from crashing is even more impressive. Here’s who Marc has turned to over the years to stay afloat.

1. Napoleon Hill

Think and Grow Rich was the first self-help book that I ever read, back in high school, and it got me into personal development and started me on my journey!

2. Chin-Ning Chu

She wrote Thick Face, Black Heart, which has been a pivotal book in my journey as well. It showed me how important it is to believe in yourself and not let the opinions of others stop you from going for your goals.

3. Grant Cardone

I read The 10X Rule several times in 2014, and it convinced me to increase my efforts 10x what I had previously planned. This has been paying off in big ways (e.g. doing a daily podcast instead of once a week, doing a ton of social media updates instead of just a normal amount etc). The book also talks about setting 10x type goals too!

4. Rivers Corbett

Rivers is an entrepreneur that lives about 2 hours away from me who has been a mentor. After experiencing a business closure in 2009, I was down in the dumps and Rivers asked to meet with me. He gave me a pep talk and showed me that I could make a comeback!

5. Natural Born Coaches

Being able to interview successful coaches every day on my own podcast has been a huge influence for me. It keeps me motivated and stimulates my mind with new ideas for my business!
