Pia Silva’s 4 Top Business Books For Finding Guidance
Yesterday we brought you Pia Silva, Co-Founder and Brand Strategist at Worstofall Design, who told us all about the precious relationship between sellers, buyers, and brands. (If you missed Pia, go back and listen here.)
Branding is all about knowing how to connect with an audience on different levels. Pia admits she doesn’t have all the means to make those connections, so she turns to a few resources to help her out.
1. The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People
I think anyone who’s feeling overwhelmed should read this book. It makes great points about finding order in life without getting rid of creativity. I frequently turn to it when I feel bogged down with work, and it never fails to give me clarity.
I love The 4-Hour Work Week because it reminds us that the typical 80-hour week doesn’t have to be only way for business owners. We should be strategic with our choices, whether it’s how we respond to email or structure our weekly schedules.
Whether I’m negotiating prices or trying to win new business, I look to Pitch Anything. Oren Klaff’s formulas for positioning offers make it simple to understand why certain tactics work, while others lead to a firm “No.”
4. How to Win Friends and Influence People
Dale Carnegie’s book is nearly 100 years old, but it never stops being a useful manual for how to deal with people. His simple tips – looking people in the eyes, being interested in them, and remembering personal details – easily stand the test of time.
