Smashing the Plateau Guest Instructions
Thank you so much for agreeing to be a guest on Smashing the Plateau. It is a pleasure to be able to feature you.
The mission of Smashing the Plateau is empowering corporate refugees to do more of what they love and get paid what they’re worth.
Stories resonate with listeners. How you overcame adversity or are currently dealing with a challenge can inspire listeners to find opportunities for growth. Sharing personal stories helps break down barriers and allows listeners to see the common humanity in all of us. Being open about your experiences creates a strong connection with listeners, making the story more relatable and inspiring listeners to take action that will impact their lives.
We will record AUDIO only.
We will be recording in 2 parts.
The following questions include the topics that we are likely to discuss. Our discussion will be conversational. The questions are listed here to help you prepare for our episode.
PART ONE: 20-25 minutes (podcast episode)
- Tell me about you and your career, describing pivot points that motivated you to become a corporate refugee.
- What’s important to you?
- What’s a goal you’re trying to achieve that focuses on what’s important to you?
- What’s a business objective related to that goal?
- How are you planning to achieve that objective?
- How are you tapping into community to support your success?
- What is one thing a corporate refugee can do today that would help them move forward? Can you provide an example?
PART TWO: 1 minute (bonus question)
What’s your favorite thing about community?

We have scheduled one hour together, so that we will have sufficient time for an edited episode of about 30 minutes. The conversation will be free flowing, following the format outlined above.
Several days before your scheduled recording, you will receive an email from SquadCast.fm <firstname.lastname@example.org> with an invitation to join the recording session using Squadcast.
Restart your computer before joining your recording session.
Use an Ethernet wired connection rather than WIFI for the best network stability.
Please read these instructions for additional details.
You will need to be in a quiet space, with an external microphone for audio input and external headset or earbuds for audio output. Your computer’s built-in microphone and speaker are not sufficient quality.
