Managing The Dream
Yesterday on Smashing the Plateau, Mary Miller discussed why investing in your people’s dreams will improve the company community and your business. Her approach, The Dream Manager program, (and best selling book penned by Matthew Kelly) prioritizes your employee’s ambitions in order to achieve common goals.
Here are some of her biggest influences:
1) Dan Sullivan
He changed the way I think and process information twenty-four years ago when I first started attending Strategic Coach workshops, and again thirteen years ago when I become a coach.
Through his books and podcasts I learned new ways of dealing with issues in life and at work, and it increased my confidence as a result.
He was the first author that I started reading as my career started to grow back in the ‘80’s. He increased my confidence in having different conversations and to go after my dreams.
4) Shawn Achor
He’s the author of the Happiness Advantage, which has research on positive psychology that supports much of what believe and speak about in The Dream Manager.
When you focus on what you learn through a situation, you can survive anything. This book changed the way I look at everything in life. Nothing is as bad as what Dr. Frankl endured.
