Simon Woodroffe On Success And Happiness

Simon Woodroffe is one of the UK’s top entrepreneurs. Not only is he the creative mastermind behind the YO! Company, he was also a featured investor in the first season of Dragon’s Den. In today’s episode, Simon shares what he’s learned throughout his career. He also reveals why having an enthusiasm for life and a well-rounded education are the tickets to a happy and successful life. Simon also discusses why he’s on a mission to provide everyone with a taste of the good life, and explores why “tell me more” can be the three most powerful words you ever ask.

We discuss…

  • Reinventing how we education children
  • What it really takes to make it in this complex world
  • Why there should be no difference between friendship and business
  • How to find the ziz in your biz
  • Taking quantum leaps of imagination

Simon Woodroffe is the creator of YO! Sushi, the conveyor belt sushi restaurant chain that opened in 1997 and now has over 100 sites around the world. He then launched YOTEL, the world’s most radical hotel in 2007 which operates a 700 room site in New York City with Singapore, San Francisco and Boston opening later this year, and Miami, London, Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Dubai Business Bay opening in 2018. Not content with resting after all that, Simon is now working on YO! Home, his re-invention of the city apartment he plans to launch later this year. Simon left school at the age of 16 and spent 30 years in the entertainment business designing and staging concerts for many artists including The Moody Blues, Madness, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder and George Michael before embarking on his YO! adventures in the mid-90’s.
