The “War Against Bland.”

Yesterday on Smashing The Plateau, Jean Tang discussed copywriting for humans, and how her company (and personal) strategy has helped clients achieve better results through engaging and anti-generic writing.

Here are some of her biggest influences:

1) E-Myth Revisited

When my company was two days old, I relished learning about the distinctions among entrepreneurs, technicians, and managers. Now, I’m rereading this book by Michael Gerber to juice the advice on scaling.

2) Corey Kupfer

I was fortunate to have this incredible lawyer be my original mentor in the EO Accelerator program. Initially, I railed at his suggestion that we create systems and templates for things I was customizing. But I took it on, and was amazed at the difference, and the ability to still deliver a custom, high-touch experience.

3) Lauren Fritsch

My current business coach gives me a smart, common sense sounding board, along with solid guidance for developing balance and maintaining delight.

4) Executive Success Program

This remarkable Albany-based personal development course taught me how to get clear on my values first and to and leave fear (far, far) behind. It’s a necessity for leadership, and I would recommend it to everyone that wanted to reach a new plane.
