The Influences Of A Seasoned Entrepreneur

The Influences Of A Seasoned Entrepreneur

On yesterday’s episode of Smashing The Plateau, Luella Whalan shared her entrepreneurial experiences, best business practices, and expert advice so that others may succeed in what she describes as a rewarding career.

Below are some of her biggest influences:

1) John Spence

John was able to communicate how to put structure around strategy and customer service. This is something entrepreneurs do, but don’t always know how to formalize and execute effectively.

2) Alan Foster

Alan completely changed the way I have personally recruited and interviewed staff.

3) TED Talks

TED talks provide continuous inspiration, creative approaches and great ideas that are necessary for an entrepreneur.

4) EO

Although I’m not currently a member, EO gave me global access to peers, speakers and resources that forced me to question and challenge myself both as a person and as an entrepreneur.

5) Turn The Ship Around

A brilliant entrepreneur in Louisiana recommended I read this book by David Marquet. It challenges the traditional hierarchy of many organizations. It totally opened my eyes on how I was running my organization at the time.
